State of South Carolina is Hiring a Payroll Services Analyst Near Richland, SC

The Payroll Services Analyst position is responsible for analyzing Job and Benefits data in PeopleSoft HCM Payroll. This includes data for faculty, staff, and other salaried/hourly employees included in a semi-monthly payroll processing, and interpreting and analyzing gross pay, tax implications, state benefit deductions, state retirement implications, and other special issues that arise. Validate and resolve issues in accordance with established University policies and procedures, as well as federal and state regulations.Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and 3 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.

PeopleSoft or other ERP Experience preferred.
Higher Education experience preferred.

Experience with PeopleSoft HCM application.
Previous FLSA training and understanding, including principles of overtime calculations.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel and Word, PowerPoint, and experience with accounting principles.
Knowledge of the principles, practices, theories and terminology of payroll, accounting, state government, retirement regulations.
Ability to proficiently apply mathematical concepts and analyze and interpret related data.
Ability to update systems and processes when new rules and regulations are implemented.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Ability to communicate effectively.
