About Midlands Regional Center

Midlands Regional Center is a residential facility of the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs located in Columbia, SC serving residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Under Direct supervision of the Psychologist. Responsible for dealing with surrogates, professionals and preparing correspondence, reports. Assist clinical psychologists/ clinical counselors in formatting/ reviewing and entering electronic versions of Behavior Support Plans (BSPs)/Addenda and Psychological/Behavioral Assesments in Therap. Assists with behavior data collection and calculation.
Responsible for electronic filing and archiving of psychology/psychotropic medication documentation. Maintain accurate electronic records of all BSPs/ Addenda on the MCShare drive Psychology Support folder and electronic archive files on the Health Share drive psychology office folder as well as office back up filing system for manually signed/approved psychotropic medication consents and BSP/Addenda consents.
Schedule and coordinate monthly HRC meetings and the psychology department meetings.
Prepare agenda and needed materials, photo copies and meeting space for HRC or department meetings. Take meeting minutes. Receive signatures of HRC members on QIDP consents. Annually update consents of treatment and receive verbal consents and approvals during admission and emergency cases. Responsible for office supplies and equipment for psychology department.
Time management and work assignments related to meeting deadlines and preparing meeting minutes; annual and as needed update of psychotropic medication consent; work independently; manage multiple assignments and provide clerical support to the Psychology department staff.
Complete other duties as assigned.

State Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma. Related clerical experience may be substituted for a high school diploma.
Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
Agency Additional Requirements: Associate degree or high school diploma and two (2) years of administrative experience in health care.

Immunization: If this position requires the applicant to work directly with DDSN consumers, a (2) step PPD testing or QuantiFERON TB Gold testing must be completed prior to beginning employment. All new employees who are healthcare providers are required to provide documentation of immunity or be immunized against measles, mumps, rubella, pertussis, Varicella and Hepatitis B prior to beginning employment.

State Disaster Plan: In accordance with the State's Disaster Plan, which includes hazardous weather, DDSN employees may be required to work in times of an emergency or disaster.
