This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. This temporary position is located in Rocky Mountain, NC - Edgecombe County.
Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $15.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).
This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Public Safety. This position is located at 78 Positive Way, Rocky Mount, NC 27801.
In this position your time is spent covering classes and/or assisting teachers in specific subject areas, preparing instructional materials, coordinating classroom activities, and following lesson plans. Responsibilities may include assisting with lesson plans, providing class instruction, facilitating online classes and HiSET coursework, and recording behavior and academic progress notes. The position will work collaboratively with subject matter teachers and facility staff to provide educational and instructional services to students. Candidate will provide feedback through progress notes. Hour are 7:30am - 3:30pm.
Preferred Candidate shall have: Experience working with students with disabilities; knowledge of classroom management techniques; Excellent written and oral communication skills; Ability to promote a positive learning environment; ability to manage small group activities; and utilize classroom and office equipment; and assist students with classroom technology use.

- Basic knowledge of child development.
- Working knowledge of the instructional programming being taught.

- Ability to establish rapport with students in the program and their families.
- Ability to assist the teacher in maintaining an environment favorable to learning.
