The Position
Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislative analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis.
The Nevada Department of Veterans Services is recruiting for a Management Analyst 3, geographically located in Reno, Nevada. This position serves as the Deputy Chief Financial Officer under the direction of the Administrative Services Officer/Chief Financial Officer. The successful incumbent will track, monitor, and report on all Department financials which includes budget analysis, projections, tracking, and forecasting. The position supervises lower-level management analysts responsible for Grants and Contracts management, MOUs, and Agreements; supervises the Accountant Technician responsible for agency A/R & A/P, ensuring billing practices follow federal, State and agency policies in order to maximize efficiency of claims adjudication; interprets, understands, and applies rules and regulations for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS); participates in the biennial budget preparation process and implementation; performs legislative research and analysis; ensures compliance with legislative and administrative mandates; assesses, develops, delivers, evaluates, and enforces internal controls, policies, and procedures; identifies, develops, and implements financial process efficiencies; and ensures the training of Department team leaders in all financial aspects including developing budgets and financial operating planning. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and three years of professional experience in the research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures; OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and three years of professional experience which included budgeting, accounting, and/or economic or management analysis and projections; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and five years of professional experience as described above; OR one year of experience as a Management Analyst II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Requirements
This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
This position requires a State of Nevada/FBI fingerprint-based background check as a condition of appointment and as condition of continuing employment.
