The Position

Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislative analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis.

The Nevada Department of Veterans Services is recruiting for a Management Analyst 3, geographically located in Reno, Nevada. This position serves as the Deputy Chief Financial Officer under the direction of the Administrative Services Officer/Chief Financial Officer. The successful incumbent will track, monitor, and report on all Department financials which includes budget analysis, projections, tracking, and forecasting. The position supervises lower-level management analysts responsible for Grants and Contracts management, MOUs, and Agreements; supervises the Accountant Technician responsible for agency A/R & A/P, ensuring billing practices follow federal, State and agency policies in order to maximize efficiency of claims adjudication; interprets, understands, and applies rules and regulations for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS); participates in the biennial budget preparation process and implementation; performs legislative research and analysis; ensures compliance with legislative and administrative mandates; assesses, develops, delivers, evaluates, and enforces internal controls, policies, and procedures; identifies, develops, and implements financial process efficiencies; and ensures the training of Department team leaders in all financial aspects including developing budgets and financial operating planning.
