Job Title: Information Security Specialist

Where: Office of State Courts Administrator, Jefferson City, MO

Full-time: 40 hours

Starting Salary: $47,117.00

We have opportunities for individuals seeking meaningful work in providing administrative, business and information technology services to the Missouri courts.

We are recruiting to fill an Information Security Specialist position to plan, coordinate, and implement security measures for information systems to regulate access to computer data files and prevent unauthorized modification, destruction or disclosure of information.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Audits and conducts system security and vulnerability analyses and risk assessments.
  • Trains users and promotes security awareness to ensure system security and to improve server and network efficiency
  • Develops plans to safeguard computer files against accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure and to meet emergency data processing needs
  • Confers with users to discuss issues such as computer data access needs, security violations, and programming changes
  • Maintains and monitors anti-virus software on servers and personal computers

Desired skills and knowledge:

  • Understanding of the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
  • Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of computer information technology
  • Considerable knowledge of the agency’s automated information systems
  • Working knowledge of the principles of computer systems disaster recovery
  • Ability to determine causes of operating errors and solution

Minimum qualifications: (The following statement represents the minimum education and experience which will be used to determine qualifications of applicants. Additional experience above the minimum stated may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required education. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.)

Bachelor's degree with at least fifteen (15) semester hours in computer science or computer information systems and one year of experience in information technology security.
