State of Missouri is Hiring a Human Resources Specialist (Recruiter) Near Jefferson City, MO

MoDOT is looking for a dynamic, outgoing, and analytical individual to be the department's lead recruiter. Bring your innovative approaches to promoting careers and building relationships with colleges and universities, job centers, and diverse groups throughout Missouri to MoDOT and excel with our team.

This opening is for one of our CAREER-LADDER positions which offers the opportunity for career advancement without having to participate in the competitive selection interview process. Based on your work experience, skills, and education, you will be hired at either the entry, intermediate, or senior level of this job title. As you continue to learn, acquire new skills, and gain experience, you can be promoted to a higher-level position.

A day in the life:

  • Recruits and pre-screens applicants, including affirmative action recruiting; provides general assistance to supervisors on the interviewing/hiring process and the promotion or transfer of current employees to authorized vacancies.
  • Provides information on current policies, procedures, and guidelines as needed, assists supervisors on matters related to the administration of personnel policies, regulations, and department programs to ensure uniform compliance.
  • Promotes department vacancies on social media sites and ensures consistent branding and presence on campuses throughout the school year. Assists with internship coordination and the annual intern conference.
  • Collects, researches, summarizes, and provides routine analysis of information and data related to personnel policies and human resources programs; prepares responses to questions or requests for information of limited complexity.
  • Reviews information, data, and forms related to equal employment opportunity and affirmative action requirements; compiles data necessary for monitoring compliance and prepares related reports.

What you’ll need for success:

  • Bachelor's Degree: Human Resources/Personnel Management, Business Administration, or related field.

Special working conditions and job characteristics:

  • This position is the lead recruiter for the department; performs on-campus interviews and coordinates with districts/divisions for applicant selections and site visits.
  • Job may require occasional, statewide or out-of-state, overnight travel.
