Job Location: This position will be located at 930 Wildwood Drive, Jefferson City Missouri. However, a potential location change to a Department office in Columbia, Moberly, or Macon will be considered depending on the candidate selected.

What you’ll do:

• Conduct initial, routine, and special circumstance inspections at regulated facilities.
• Conduct complaint and disease investigations.
• Respond to disasters and other emergencies impacting public health.
• Provide training and technical guidance to industry, local public health agencies, and the public.

All you need for success:

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Public Health, or other applicable field of study (substitutions for experience will be considered).
• One or more years of environmental health experience in food, water, wastewater, lodging, childcare, outbreak response and prevention, etc.
• Ability obtain and maintain a Lead Hazard Risk Assessor License.
• Ability to travel in and out of state, including some overnight stays. Valid driver’s license required.
• Moderate physical effort and mobility is required, i.e. driving vehicles, climbing stairs, negotiating outdoor training, walking/standing for hours at a time and frequent stooping/bending.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills; ability to communicate clearly, appropriately, and effectively; attention to detail.
