State of Missouri is Hiring a Compliance Officer (3880060) Near Jefferson City, MO

Job Location: This position will be located at 3418 Knipp Dr., Jefferson City, MO 65109. The Domain will be the selected employee's home address within 60 miles of Kansas City limits.

The successful candidate will get to be a part of new program in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and creating new medical options for the citizens of Missouri. The Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring medical marijuana facility licensees are in compliance with constitutional and program rules by reviewing facility information, conducting in depth documentation reviews, onsite inspections and investigations as necessary. Approximately 60 percent of this position will be in office work and 40 percent of the work will be in the field. This position will be responsible for helping to build all aspects of the Compliance program from the ground up.

What you’ll do:

  • Working with the Regional Compliance Manager to develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure licensed facilities are in compliance with the constitution and program rules.
  • In-depth auditing and reviewing of facility plans and documents, including facility wide standard operating procedures, physical and security site plans, etc., for compliance with 19 CSR 30-95.
  • Scheduling and conducting routine physical inspections for license commencement, annual inspections, renewals, and changes.
  • Preparing and issuing inspection reports.
  • Issuing notice of violation and identifying necessary remediation steps.
  • Providing education to facilities on compliance requirements and changes.
  • Conducting compliance investigations and visits.
  • Responding to inquiries from facilities regarding compliance issues.
  • Supporting the overall success of the Medical Marijuana Regulatory Program, including drafting communications and FAQs, and assisting peers.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of facility medical marijuana from seed or plant to final sale in the state’s Track and Trace system to ensure compliance with 19 CSR 30-95.
  • Conducting assigned investigations; locating, interviewing, and preparing statements, collecting and evaluating pertinent records; obtaining and preparing evidence; preparing detailed investigative reports; and providing testimony in administrative proceedings.
  • Coordinating program activities with staff, law enforcement agencies and other governmental entities in the conduct of investigative and surveillance activities, and identifying and addressing concerns within the assigned region or area.
  • Conducting statistical analysis of investigative trends/data and preparing reports of findings.
  • Exercising considerable independence and initiative in the performance of responsibilities; receiving general administrative direction.
  • Performing related or similar duties as required or assigned.

All you need for success:

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; and,
  • Two to Four years of relevant experience.
  • (Additional qualifying experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis for deficiencies in the required college education.)
  • Ability to work in a fasted paced environment with many competing priorities.
  • Ability to mine detailed information in the state's track and trace system for compliance issues and investigation purposes is a must.
  • Administrative regulatory experience is preferred.
