This position directs and leads the Metro District Office of Planning, Program Management & Transit to ensure that district and department goals, objectives, policies, and procedures are met, and all programs are delivered through effective integration of resources.
The position directs the Metro District Construction Program/Budget, securing and allocating the financial resources needed to accomplish District capital improvement program objectives. It directs the development, delivery, implementation, and integration of the Metro District portion of the Minnesota State Transportation Investment Program (MnSHIP), the I0-Year Capital Highway Investment Plan (CHIP), and the Metro Area Transportation Improvement Program (ATIP).
The position directs the Metro District Planning functions including Metro District participation in the Twin Cities Multi-Agency transportation planning process; oversees the Federal Planning grant program administration and the federally mandated coordinated, cooperative, and continuing planning process (3-C); and provides oversight for System-wide and Corridor studies.
The position also directs the Transit Section including regional transitway implementation planning and Transit Advantages.
In addition, the position leads and/or participates in national, state, and local committees on transportation-related research and policy, Department and District management teams, task forces, and issue groups.
This position is located at Metro District’s Waters Edge building in Roseville, MN. The employee will have the option to telework but may be required to be in the office based on business needs. A telework agreement will be required.
Bachelor's degree in Planning, Public Administration, Engineering, or a closely related field; AND
Five years of progressively responsible experience in the field of transportation planning of which three are managerial (i.e., accountable for determining, securing, and allocating human, financial and other resources needed to accomplish objectives).
