Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) seeks to fill the position of Cashier. The Cashier is located in the Division of Accounting & Finance. This is a full-time, twelve-month, position and is open for recruitment until filled.

We are looking for a full-time Cashier who enjoys working with the public and has a friendly, outgoing personality. As a team-oriented company, we seek an individual who can be flexible with work hours. The ideal candidate is dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and displays a positive attitude when interacting with customers and employees.
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include, but are not limited to:

• Provide direct service to prospective, current and former students
• Receives, processes and accounts for payments on behalf of the college
• Balance cash drawer daily ensuring security and control of tender received
• Assists with Collection process including account analysis and review
• Assist with third-party billing of student accounts
• Responds to and/or direct inquiries in person, on the phone or via email regarding student account matters and refund status requests.
• Accesses and works with other departments to assist in resolving issues from students, staff and external sources.
• Performs basic office duties including ordering supplies and equipment, maintaining files, distribution logs and processing mail
• Stays current regarding institutional policies, procedures and requirements of cashiering
• Communicates and coordinates with Student Accounts Receivable Manager regarding cashier operations, training, scheduling and other job related issues
