ANTICIPATED VACANCY

Starting Salary: $2,313.82 Bi-weekly ($60,159.32 Annually). (In accordance with current spending restrictions, if the appointment is an internal promotion, the position will be filled at the minimum of the pay grade or up to 5% of the employee’s current rate, whichever higher.)

DESCRIPTION:

Performs highly responsible technical, consultative, administrative work for the Office of Prevention Services by planning and directing programming and technical assistance activities. Responsibilities of this position involve supervising staff, evaluating staff, planning and directing staff’s work, and having general supervisory duties. Incumbent supervises and motivates assigned staff, to ensure their work performance and work product is timely, accurate, and of high quality. Motivates staff to fully support and exemplify a positive and ethical work environment which allows all employees to achieve their full potential in carrying out the Department’s mission and goals. Maintains a positive working relationship with other managers within the Program to ensure the most efficient, effective, consistent, and feasible manner of workflow is accomplished.

The position supervisors’ staff and conducts thorough on-site visits; assists in the provision of technical assistance and support; provides direction and guidance on contractual issues for Prevention services. The position reviews and monitors provider deficiencies, assists in resolving deficiencies and resolve program related incidents.

Conducts thorough conference calls, assists in troubleshooting with providers to ensure compliance from an assessment and measurement of the program’s effectiveness, from a management, financial, technical, and contractual perspective.

Educates community stakeholders on delinquency prevention programming, research, and policies; participates in community engagements and initiatives; coordinates and/or facilitates Prevention Services youth and community events; develops and maintains effective partnerships and affiliations with local community organizations.

Evaluates data and updates measurable program goals, objectives, and makes recommendations to management.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis.

Ability to collect evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document work flow and other activities relating to the improvement of operational and management practices.

Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials.

Ability to conduct fact-finding research.

Ability to utilize problem solving techniques.

Ability to work independently.

Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to operational and management analysis activities.

Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.

Ability to communicate effectively.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Communicate effectively with customers (providers), maintain a positive and collaborative working relationship with co-workers.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

At least one or more years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

This position requires a flexible work schedule due to some weekends and after hours (evening) work.

Licenses suspended or revoked for any reason, work permits (Business purpose/Employment/Education only licenses) and some types of restricted licenses are not acceptable. Licenses that have Corrective Lenses Restriction are acceptable, provided the driver wears corrective lenses while operating the vehicle.
