The land that became Alapocas Run State Park was donated to the city of Wilmington in the early 1900s by local industrialist William Bancroft. Alapocas Run became a state park in 2002.
Summary Statement
This position will complete projects and routine maintenance repair activities at Wilmington/Alapocas Run State Parks. This position is responsible for building and grounds maintenance, including but not limited to plumbing; HVAC; electrical diagnostics and repairs; carpentry, construction, and painting; small engine equipment operation, maintenance, diagnostics, and repair; welding and metal work; landscaping, grounds maintenance and tree work, cleaning of public restrooms and offices as well as other duties as assigned. The selected candidate will work both with a team and independently, depending on the project and may be responsible for training and supervising of casual/seasonal workers or volunteers.
