New employees accepting this recruitment bonusmust commit to two consecutive years of employment with DHSS.� You must bea new employee to the state to be eligible for this incentive.�Referral bonuses of $1,000 areavailable to current DHSS employees who refer new hires to the state in thefollowing classifications: Advanced Practice Nurse, Nurse Consultant, NursingSupervisor, Compliance Nurse, Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, andCertified Nursing Assistant.�Referral bonuses of $1,000 will be paid inquarterly installments over the first year of hire of the referred applicant.�NOTE: This program isadministered by the Department of Health and Social Services. �The programmay be terminated by the State at any time.�

Summary Statement

A Registered Nurse is responsible for all required nursing care on their assigned shift and unit, in accordance with state and federal guidelines. This includes ongoing assessment of clients, recovery care planning, on-going evaluation of all care provided, documentation, medication administration, wound care, and respiratory treatments. The RN must assign and supervise their staff according to staffing requirements and acuity, respond to psychiatric and medical emergencies, and conduct a variety of therapeutic groups. As an active member of the interdisciplinary recovery team, the RN works closely with clients’ families, community providers, and all support service departments at DPC. The RN role models client centered care initiatives to their staff, based on DPC’s mission and vision.

Essential Functions

Essential functions are fundamental, core functions common to positions in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of every job duty for any one position in the class. Since class specifications are descriptive and not restrictive, incumbents can complete job duties of similar kind not specifically listed here. Provides or evaluates direct nursing care. Develops, implements and/or reviews nursing care plans. Provides health care instruction and guidance to individuals, families, community groups and/or nursing home facilities in the management of their health care needs. Maintains an effective working relationship with other members of the treatment team. Prepares and submits records, reports, evaluations and forms.� Participates in and make recommendations regarding quality assurance activities.�

Job Requirement Series

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Registered Nurse IApplicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:��������� Possession of a Delaware Registered Nurse license�OR multi-state compact license.Registered Nurse II - Psychiatric Nursing Possession of a Bachelors degree or higher in Nursing OR at least one year experience as a Registered Nurse in Psychiatric Nursing. Possession of a Delaware Registered Nurse license�OR multi-state compact license. Registered Nurse III - Psychiatric Nursing At least two years experience as a Registered Nurse in Psychiatric Nursing OR a Bachelors degree or higher in Nursing and at least one year experience as a Registered Nurse in Psychiatric Nursing OR a Masters degree or higher in Nursing. Possession of a Delaware Registered Nurse license OR multi-state compact license.
