Under the general supervision of the Senior Accounting Officer (Supervisor), the Accounting Officer (Specialist) performs professional program accounting work of average complexity related to the Unemployment Insurance (UI) and Disability Insurance (DI) programs, and provides primary support for the UI Workers' Compensation Lien and Child Support Intercept programs. As part of the Benefit Accounting Section, the incumbent will perform a variety of accounting duties to prepare financial reports; perform accounting adjustments; reconcile bank accounts, benefit payments, and overpayment accounts; train and mentor staff, and review staff work. The incumbent will utilize databases, spreadsheets, and benefit accounting reports to analyze information obtained from Federal, State, and Departmental sources and take appropriate action to ensure the integrity of the UI and DI Trust Funds. The incumbent needs to be flexible and adaptable to frequent workload changes based on organizational workload priorities.
