The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking a detail-oriented individual responsible for sourcing, pricing, soliciting, analyzing, and composing and/or processing purchase requests for materials, services, and supplies.
- Purchases goods and services
- Prepares requisitions and purchase orders (not requiring a bid)
- Establishes pricing and product sources
- Solicits verbal and written quotations
- Researches commodity areas, specifications, and contractual terms to fulfill or composes bids/proposals and quotes
- Analyzes submitted proposals, seeks end user’s input, and prepares an award recommendation for the approval process
- Researches new sources and maintains lists of vendors able products and services
- Corresponds with vendors for pricing, availability and market trends
- Plans and participates in commodity surveys, pre-bid conferences, and bid openings
- Supervises an inmate workforce
- Drives on state business
- Performs other duties as appropriate to the assignment
Knowledge of:
- The Arizona Procurement Code and statewide procurement software (Arizona Procurement Portal)
- Departmental policies and procedures relating to purchasing
- Purchasing practices and procedures
- Business procedures, such as accounting and business law mathematics
- A wide variety of standard commodities and products
- Supply sourcing
- Local and national markets
- Pricing trends
- Statewide available commodity markets, products and materials
Skill in:
- Materials management
- Purchasing
- Business administration procedures and mathematics
- Computer operation and various software, including Microsoft Office and Google
Ability to:
- Learn and interpret the Arizona Procurement Code and departmental policies and procedures related to purchasing
- Learn and utilize the statewide procurement software (Arizona Procurement Portal)
- Work in a correctional environment with an inmate workforce
- Certification from the Universal Public Purchasing Council as a Certified Public Purchasing Buyer (CPPB) or from the Institute for Supply Management as an Accredited Purchasing Practitioner (APP)
Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation and drug test.
