ASSET SERVICING SPECIALIST I
Position Summary: This position works closely with AHFC Master Servicers, AHFC Direct Servicing Loans, AHFC's internal departments, insurance companies, title companies, and attorneys to ensure AHFC and other investor requirements have been met. Under the direct supervision of the Servicing Officer, this non-exempt, non-supervisory position must be able to work with a high degree of independence.
Reports to: SERVICING OFFICER
OVERVIEW
Responsible for performing a variety of assigned duties including but not limited to analyzing, approving/denying Servicer recommended actions within prescribed limits.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED: Non-exempt, non-supervisory Position.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Assist the Servicing staff providing clerical and administrative support.
Input daily data activity.
Organize and monitor flow of work.
Communicate effectively (both written and oral) within AHFC and with outside Servicing partners.
Perform logical reasoning with the ability to analyze data and recommend solutions.
Prepares legally binding documents for approval.
Other duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of: Mortgage servicing procedures and vocabulary, mathematical calculations and standard accounting practices, interpersonal written and oral communication, and standard business procedures. Knowledge of mortgage default servicing, loss mitigation philosophy, AHFC guidelines, mortgage insurance and guarantor guidelines, policies and standard reporting requirements.
Skills and Abilities: Customer service experience, Microsoft Office applications, ten-key by touch, strong telephone skills, and customer relations.
Work independently, communicate effectively in written and oral form; communicate with individuals in a variety of cultures and environments; comprehend and interpret State and Federal laws, rules, and regulations; read and interpret various types of loan documents; monitor and maintain detailed information; accurately input data; monitor assigned tasks from beginning to end and offer suggestions for efficiency; ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously; manage time and resources to ensure work is completed efficiently and within established time-fames; organize and priority assigned duties with logical reasoning; strong attention to detail; analyze unique situations; ability to positively interact with co-workers and AHFC partners maintaining effective working relationships both internally and externally; ability to initiate processes and procedure improvements; analyze Servicer recommendations related to mitigation of loss to AHFC on distressed loans; problem solving; analytical skills in drawing sound conclusions; analyze financial statements and tax returns; determine borrower needs; understand property needs for all conditions; mitigation of loss to AHFC; represent AHFC with limited outside business contacts.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduate or the equivalent and one-year office experience associated with special credits, mortgage lending, mortgage servicing, or mortgage collections.
This is a level 15-17 position with an annual starting salary of $ 50,300.58 (DOE) (26 pay periods). Excellent benefits package.
