Pay will be determined based on location of selected individual.
Anchorage salary: $2,399.20 biweekly
Fairbanks salary: $2,471.20 biweekly
Juneau salary: $2,519.20 biweekly
What you will be doing:
Reporting to the Administrative Operations Manager I (AOM), this role involves performing professional level administrative tasks across various functional areas within the division of Spill Prevention and Response (SPAR). Responsibilities include overseeing a team of Administrative Assistants at multiple office locations and implementing process improvements and procedures as needed.

The Response Fund Administration (RFA) division of SPAR is dedicated to effectively managing the Oil and Hazardous Substance Release Prevention and Response Fund (OHSRPRF) as a sustainable source of funding for the state's essential spill prevention and response initiatives. The administrative team within RFA plays a crucial role in supporting the Programs by handling all necessary administrative tasks.
The Administrative Officer is a key player in advancing RFA's goals and objectives. This role is vital to the overall success of SPAR and is relied upon by all team members. By delivering exceptional customer service, providing accurate administrative support, and guiding staff members, the Administrative Officer contributes significantly to the achievements of SPAR.

The physical location of this position will depend on the physical location of the selected applicant. We are looking for a candidate that has experience in the following areas:

  • Financial Management:
    Prepares, justifies, and/or administers the budget for program areas; plans, administers, and monitors expenditures to ensure cost-effective support of programs and policies; assesses financial condition of an organization.

  • Oral and Written Communication:
    Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral and written presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
Equivalent to those typically gained by:
Any combination of preparatory post-secondary education and/or experience providing administrative support to a business or organization, business administration, public administration, finance, banking, accounting, industrial relations, marketing, human resource management, logistics and supply chain management, or a similar business field.
