This position is open to Alaska Residents only.Please check our residency definition to determine if you qualify.This position is being recruited for in Anchorage, Soldotna, Wasilla, Fairbanks, or Juneau. Pay will be determined based on location of selected individual. Anchorage, Soldotna, Wasilla salary: $2,580.80 / $2,944.80Fairbanks salary: $2,658.40 / $3,032.80Juneau salary: $2,709.60 / $3,092.00 What you will be doing: You will be responsible for the management and oversight of accounts payable and receivable for the department, analyzing and improving internal accounting controls, providing staff analysis and accounting data, financial reporting, fund tracking, and preparing and delivering training to administrative and accounting staff across the department. You will directly supervise three accounting technician positions, responsible for hiring, training, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and directing workflow. This is a flex Accountant 3/4 position which provides the incumbent the opportunity to work with the Finance Officer in the initial training period before advancing to the full proficiency level.If you work well independently and enjoy teamwork, possess strong accounting skills, and are interested in both learning from and mentoring others- we encourage you to apply!Our organization, mission, and culture: The administrative services team is dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and embrace the department's mission of "Conserving, improving, and protecting Alaska's natural resources and environment to enhance the health, safety, and economic and social well-being of Alaskans."
