Position Title: Catering Supervisor

Department: Impact Catering

Reports To: Catering Manager & Catering and Sales Senior Manager

Supervises:Catering Staff

Pay Range:$14-$17/hr (dependent upon experience)

Classification:Part-Time Hourly

Job Responsibilities and Requirements

  • Oversee serving of meals to guests or directing guests to buffet lines in venue dining areas during catering functions.
  • Serve beverages to guests including alcoholic beverages checking guest’s ID to verify minimum age requirement as required.
  • Observe guests responding to any additional requests and determining when a meal has been completed.
  • Ensure tableware and linens are replaced as necessary.
  • Assist in setting up banquet functions including placement of linens, dishware, glassware and silverware.
  • Maintain sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas.
  • Ensure location equipment is operable and clean prior to start of events.
  • Recognize guests that are visibly intoxicated and take action to cut off alcohol service to such persons.
  • Assist the Catering and Sales Senior Manager and Catering Manager with projects including training, inventory and special events.
  • Assist in other departments as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Valid liquor license/alcohol service (ABLE) permit and food handling certificate as required by state and federal regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise the work of others.
  • Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages) as they relate to POS/Micros cash/credit transactions, cash reconciliation and product inventory.

  • Perform detailed work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment handling multiple tasks with flexibility in a calm, professional manner.
  • Effectively communicate with others in a clear, business-like, respectful and personable manner focused on generating a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative environment.
  • Maintain high standards of appearance and grooming (i.e., clean, wrinkle free clothing, proper uniform/attire, close attention to personal hygiene).
  • Meet the company standard for excellent attendance, job reliability, diligence and dedication.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Speak, read and write in English.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Extended hours, nights and weekends may be required during peak periods.
  • Frequent or continual movement from place to place with normal physical mobility, covering long distances with ease, managing assigned tasks throughout various indoor and outdoor locations within and around the property and in potentially inclement/severe weather conditions.
  • Regularly lift, carry and put away items weighing up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift and carry heavier items and/or assist others in lifting heavier objects, as job demands.
  • Walk and/or stand for extended periods in addition to other prolonged physical exertions including seeing, hearing, reaching, grasping, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, crouching, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing and working in awkward positions and tight areas may be required.
