Star Dental Partners is Hiring a Staff Accountant Near Plano, TX

We are currently seeking a hands-on Staff Accountant to join our high-growth and fast-paced DSO. This position will assist with all elements of the accounting function, including General Ledger accounting and month end reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various month-end close journal entries and account reconciliations as assigned
  • Perform P&L trend analysis for multiple locations, research any unusual variances, and prepare journal entries as needed
  • Actively participate in the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close process ensuring work is completed in accordance with closing schedule and helping with annual audit requests
  • Update A/R rollforward for each practice monthly
  • Assign and maintain IDs for all practice providers
  • Review and maintain Fixed Assets in Fixed Asset Subledger of Accounting system
  • New vendor setup for Accounts Payable
  • Generating reports from various dental systems as needed
  • Review reports submitted to accounting for completeness and accuracy
  • Support the back-office integration of newly acquired locations including DBA setup
  • Ad hoc projects or other duties as needed to support the Accounting Department

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Demonstrate sense of urgency and works well under pressure
  • Proficient in Excel including consistent use of lookups and pivot tables
  • Familiarity with US GAAP and internal controls
  • High level of customer service orientation while maintaining a positive and professional attitude
  • Can work well both independently and on a team
  • Proven analytical mind and not afraid to dive deep into the details and solve problems
  • Sharp attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, adapt to and operate in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited program required
  • 1-2 years of general ledger accounting experience including prior multi-location P&L trend analysis and account reconciliations required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint and automated accounting systems

Work Conditions

  • Required to commute to the Plano, TX office four days weekly, Monday - Thursday. Fridays are virtual.
  • Ability to maintain a full-time employment schedule of approximately 40 hours per week extended hours may be requested or required
  • Prolonged sitting and standing as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs.

Our experienced Support Center team assists dentists with management of non-clinical staffing and human resources, finance and payroll administration, marketing, payor relations, supplies and capital equipment procurement, as well as information systems. With experience and dedicated support from professional management, dental offices are free to focus their attention on providing patient care.

SDP offers practice owners an alternative to the traditional practice transition model. Our affiliation program offers practice owners the opportunity to partner with a highly collaborative and experienced DSO Team.
