Stamos & Trucco LLP is Hiring a Billing Specialist Near Chicago, IL

BILLING ASSISTANT

Small Loop law firm has immediate opening for a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual to handle client billing and other accounting related responsibilities.

Job Summary:

Compiles, manages, and executes attorney billing, accounts payable and accounts receivable. May also perform a variety of other accounting and bookkeeping duties according to established policies and procedures. Maintains contact with attorneys, staff, vendors and clients and observes confidentiality of client and firm matters.

Essential Job Functions:

Process attorney timesheets in preparation for client billing

  • Generate client bills
  • Revise and finalize client bills based on attorney revisions
  • Input electronic client payments in Juris
  • Generate electronic bills in Ledes format and upload to various electronic billing programs per client guidelines
  • Review and verify accuracy of billing and supporting documentation as required
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to handle a high volume of bills per month
  • Ability to effectively interact and communicate with attorneys, secretaries, and clients
  • Research and respond to inquiries regarding billing issues and problems
  • Familiar with and applies Firm billing policies
  • Utilizes computerized accounting and payables software programs (Quickbooks, Excel, Word) to perform duties and responsibilities
  • Maintain filing (hard copy and electronic)
  • Ensures strict confidentiality at all times
  • Assists with special projects as needed

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • High school diploma
  • 1-2 years billing experience in a law firm helpful but will train
  • Knowledge of Quickbooks and Juris a plus
  • Demonstrate proficiency with MS Office
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Ability to organize workflow and use time efficiently
  • Ability to show strong attention to detail
  • Ability to perform at high levels in a fast paced, ever-changing work environment and successfully adapt to priorities and work demands
  • Ability to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimal direction
  • Ability to follow up on own initiative

Full-time position. Excellent benefits. Salary commensurate with experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
