Position: Billing Specialist
M-F 8-5 0-1 yr $18-19, 2-4 yr 19-20, 4-6 yr 21-22, 6 yr $23-24
Billing is the admin office for 90 days of training, then remote after that.
- Ability to thoroughly and accurately code services pertaining to authorizations.
- Ability to obtain authorizations on procedures for our ASC center and Hospital locations.
- Knowledge of Insurance companies and plans
- Ability to identify in and out of network companies plans and obtain benefits information.
- Monitor daily tasks.
- Ability to efficiently follow up on denied, invalid, and rejected medical claims with goal of reprocessing and payment.
- Ability to efficiently appeal appropriate medical claims with appropriate documentation with goal of reprocessing and payment.
- Ability to accurately answer provider questions related to billing.
- Ability to always provide excellent customer service to patients.
- Ability to professionally and accurately respond to patient inquiries related to billing related questions.
- Ability to track and monitor patient payment agreements.
- Knowledge of medical billing claim life cycle as well as industry-accepted averages and norms
- Knowledge of insurance and patient A/R processes
- 2 - 5 years of experience as a medical billing AR (Required)
- Medical Billing: 2 years (Required)
- ICD-10/CPT Coding: 2 years (Required)
- Insurance verification: 2 years (Required)
- Authorizations/Pre-Certs: 2 years (Required)
- GI billing experience (Preferred)
- Excellent typing and documentation skills.
- Excellent computer skills and experience with MS Office Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills, verbal, and written.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Requires reasoning ability and good independent judgment.
- Ability to work under stressful conditions and irregular hours at times.
- Ability to work in an environment with frequent interruptions.
