RoleReporting to the Facilities Director, the Field and Grounds Manager is directly responsible for maintenance of the artificial turf playing surface, stadium event conversions, and upkeep of the grounds and landscaping throughout the campus. This is a supervisory position, serving as redundancy for the Facilities Director. This position helps lead the Facilities Crew by demonstrating good work ethic, attention to detail, and a desire to constantly improve the condition of the facility. The Field and Grounds Manager needs to be self-motivated, be able to prioritize tasks, and identify projects that need to be completed.
This is a full-time, salaried position, with competitive pay and benefits.

Responsibilities- Responsible for ensuring the Astroturf playing surface at Finley Stadium is maintained according to manufacturer recommendations and conforms with NCAA, FIFA, and MLS NextPro guidelines.
- Oversees the planning, supervision and execution of painting and paint removal operations to create a high quality, clean soccer pitch and convert to football with team specific layouts and logos.
- Takes ownership of operating and maintaining the various pieces of equipment utilized on the field; including the drag, brush, sweep, paint sprayers, and paint remover machine, Pioneer P-REX.
- Oversees the sport specific field set-up between events, including the set-up and removal of hydraulic football goal posts, soccer goals, covered soccer team benches, football team benches, protective flooring and other relevant items as the event requires.
- Works directly with coaching staff and team personnel with stadium partners to coordinate work, receive feedback, and build positive working relationships.
- Leads the Facilities crew in routine maintenance of the campus grounds and landscaping, including mowing, edging, blowing, treating weeds, mulching, pruning, leaf collection, and the planting and care of the native planting beds throughout.
- Follows all company safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; and properly store flammable materials.
- Seeks to learn and as needed, performs emergency, corrective, and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and adjustments on a variety of HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing and electrical fixtures & components.
- Participates in the operation, maintenance and repair of diverse facility equipment which may include commercial kitchen equipment, door/lock repair, minor painting, phone cabling, carpentry and general duties as assigned that utilize basic mechanical aptitude.
- Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and all utility shut-offs for buildings.
- Serves as Facility Lead on-duty during all football and soccer stadium events.
- Perform event related duties, set-ups and coverage for functions as assigned.
- Provide excellent customer service assistance to internal and external clients.
- Supervises Facilities staff and assists in hiring, training, scheduling, and management process.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications- High school diploma (or equivalent) required, Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred, with at least two years’ experience in field and grounds maintenance in an organized league setting.
- Experience in artificial turf maintenance required, and painting and paint removal process experience preferred.
- Must be able to operate and perform basic repairs to field and grounds related equipment; including but not limited to mower, blowers, paint sprayers, and paint remover machines.
- A successful candidate must have a high degree of attention to detail and ability to demonstrate examples of that.
- Ability to lift and carry packages or materials up to 50 pounds.
- Exceptional people skills, and practices the core value of Put People First.
- Experience in operating light machinery and working at heights.
- Forklift certification preferred, or ability to obtain a forklift certification within 30-days of employment.
- A willingness to be hands-on, learn building skills, and make decisions when functioning as Facilities lead on-duty.
- Ability to work independently or within a team.
- Personable, Detail-oriented, Self-starter, Problem-solver, Team player, and ability to present information to internal and external clients.
- Must be available to work nights, weekends.
