ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Attend project update meetings and possess broad-based knowledge of the project
  • Serve as a key liaison to the Owner’s communications staff
  • Ensure timely communications for field activities, coordinate community outreach events, and other requirements as detailed in the project specifications.
  • Responsible for overseeing and managing subconsultants for the project hired to perform communications scopes of work. 

Required and Preferred Qualifications:

(Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Excellent communication skills are required. Ability to listen, engage, and influence is vital.
  • Office Suite is required and will be frequently used. 
    • Word--Strong ability required
    • PowerPoint--proficiency preferred
    • Excel--Ability to navigate spreadsheets, and utilize Excel as a tracking system required.
      • Analysis with Excel is appreciated but not required.
      • 20% travel capability required between projects within drivable proximity.
      • A Driver’s License is required as this position will drive a company vehicle.
  • Bilingual--Conversational Spanish is a requirement.
  • Ombudsman, negotiation, or PR experience in your background would make you a highly qualified candidate.
  • 5-10 years relevant experience with a mixture of communications, community building, transportation exposure, event planning, and administrative experience. 
  • Evidenced ability to think strategically and develop and implement a program.
  • Must work well with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Proven capacity and desire to work with a high volume of tasks.
  • Ideally will have worked with Heavy Civil, Transit, and Transportation projects.
  • 20% travel capability required between projects within drivable proximity.
  • A Driver’s License is required as this position will drive a company vehicle.
