Reports ToSupervisor of Payroll

Summary

The Payroll Clerk is responsible for performing a range of clerical and administrative tasks to support the payroll department in accurate and timely payroll processing. This role involves data entry, record maintenance, and collaboration with the payroll team to ensure payroll accuracy.

Essential Functions

•Accurately input and update payroll-related data, including employee information, direct deposit information, and deductions, into the payroll system.

•Ensure data accuracy and completeness in all payroll transactions.

•Maintain organized and up-to-date payroll records, including employee files, timecards, and tax forms.

•File and store payroll documents in accordance with company policies.

•Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll, including calculations, manual checks, and direct deposits.

•Collaborate with team members to verify and reconcile payroll data.

•Respond to employee questions and inquiries related to payroll, deductions, and timekeeping.

•Escalate complex issues as needed.

•Assist in generating payroll reports and spreadsheets for analysis and auditing purposes.

•Prepare and distribute payroll reports to relevant departments.

•Provide general administrative support to the payroll department, such as filing, scanning, and photocopying documents.

•Provides administrative support to the Human Resources and Finance team as needed

•Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

•High school diploma or equivalent (additional education or coursework in accounting or finance is a plus).

•One-year certificate from college or technical school, six months to one-year related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience 

•Strong data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy.

•Proficiency in using payroll software and MS Office applications, especially Excel.

•Basic knowledge of payroll regulations and procedures.

•Excellent organizational and time management skills.

•Strong attention to detail and ability to work with sensitive information
