Our preschool has been a community fixture for over 40 years in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. We are a NYCDOE contracted preschool that provides a warm, nurturing and responsive educational environment. We are seeking an energetic, committed, and motivated team player to join our dynamic teachers. The ideal candidate will bring their individuality, creativity, and adaptability to our amazing team of educators.

QUALIFCATIONS:

• 18 years of age
• High School Diploma required
• Associates/Bachelor's Degree and/or credits towards degree preferred
• Must be available for 10:00am-6:00pm
• At least 1 year experience in early childhood education (2 years preferred)
• Experience supporting preschool students
• Valid/updated APSIRE account preferred
• Mandated professional development certifications preferred (NYS Mandated Reporter, Infectious Disease Control, Family Engagement)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in ensuring the supervision, safety and health and engagement of children at all times.
• Consistently working with and collaborating with teaching team.
• Assist in providing positive and supportive learning environment to children in a developmentally appropriate manner.
• Assist in in building relationships and communication with families to support the child’s growth and development.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, safe and healthy learning environment for children and staff.
• Assist in maintaining accurate student and class records.
• Assist in maintaining an orderly and organized classroom including restocking materials, changing bulletin boards.
• Participate in professional development requirements (15 hours per academic year)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
