OVERVIEW:
Assist professional Nursing Staff. Assists, cues, and supervises Assisted Living Residents with personal daily living activities. Furnishes fresh water for Residents, keeps units neat and clean, changes linens, weighs Residents, prepares Residents for meals, and passes out nourishments. Follows all Resident Rights; recognizes and reports appropriately Resident abuse and neglect. This position is a temporary stepping stone to obtaining a healthcare licensure (CNA, LPN, RN, etc.).. Must understand good basic sanitation. Blood and body fluids exposure: Category I.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a sincere desire to care for the elderly. Must have knowledge of procedures and techniques in providing personal care. Understanding of standard techniques in caring for equipment and supplies is required. Individual must maintain personal hygiene and cleanliness. Must have documentation from a health care provider stating that Team Member is free from communicable disease.

REQUIRED SKILL, EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must be actively working towards completion of CNA certification and become certified prior to assuming full responsibilities as CNA.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to assist with evacuation of Residents in the event of emergency. Must be able to perform repetitive tasks even under unpleasant conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The Team Member frequently is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The Team Member is occasionally required to sit. The Team Member must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
