Founded in 1883, St. Margaret's Center is a skilled nursing facility serving medically fragile infants, children, and young adults on a single dedicated campus. Requirements for a LPN: Licensed Practical Nurse:

• Current and valid NYS LPN License
• Minimum of one year acute or long-term care experience, preferred.
• Must be 18 years old
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds

Responsibilities for a LPN: Licensed Practical Nurse:

• Provide direct care and treatment to individuals in assigned program(s) through a variety of nursing procedures and medication administration.
• Respond and assist in medical emergencies and take appropriate action with guidance from RN.
• Observe and monitor individuals with specific health problems and those at risk and report pertinent findings to RN.
• Document all current health related information in nurses' notes and/or medical record.
• Check nursing equipment as indicated.
• Assist RN in annual assessment of consumers in day programs.
• Keep medical files current and complete.
• Attends nursing/program meetings as scheduled.
• Communicates with other service providers, program staff, administration, etc., re: changing medical issues.
