Development Director

Little Sister of the Poor - St. Joseph's Home for the Elderly is in search of a wonderful, experienced, hands-on Development Director to join our team. The Director of Development is responsible for leading and managing the fund-raising program and development-related activities of the Home. The Director of Development will collaborate with the Collecting Sister, and with all committees involved in fund-raising and public relations activities for the Home.

Experience with grant proposals, newsletter publication, large event planning and managing the day-to-day activities of the department. Strong Razor's Edge, MS Office Suite desired.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration or related field preferred.
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible fundraising experience (or related field) including non-profit organizations, major gifts, grant/foundation proposals and planned giving.
  • Strong working knowledge of computer skills including: knowledge of photography, marketing and design programs.
  • Demonstrated success and evidence of ability to plan and execute a sustainable development program including, but not limited to a diverse range of major events planning and project campaign experience.
  • Leadership qualities including, but not limited to organizational skills, the ability to analyze data and trends and possess professionalism, high ethical standards of behavior and decision-making.
  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to write creatively and speak persuasively.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends according to the needs of the department; to travel, and to have a valid driver’s license.
