Description

Employment Status: Part-Time 

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly) 

Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday 9 am - 1 pm 

20 hours per week 

Reports to: Pastor

SUMMARY

The Deanery Resource Coordinator is responsible for collaborating and coordinating programs that benefit respective parishes included within the Deanery in areas including but not limited to faith formation, social programs and other activities as defined by the collective deanery parishes. The coordinator reports directly to the Dean although coordinates with each Pastor within the deanery to initiate programs that facilitate and grow the community within each of the local parishes within the Deanery boundary.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Work at the parish of the assigned dean and 20% of job-related tasks will include traveling and/or using Microsoft Teams or Zooms. (Mileage reimbursed, if applicable)
  • Assures compliance with Archdiocesan policies, and local, state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with Deanery Pastors and other agencies of the Archdiocese of San Antonio.
  • Assist in the planning, collaboration and execution of the monthly/annual deanery meetings as needed. 
  • Write a monthly report of activities and activities that are being planned and send to deanery priests. 
  • Organizes and coordinates parish and deanery retreats throughout the year at various dean parishes as defined by the Deanery team. These include but are not limited to: 
  1. Deanery Middle School Retreat once a year. 
  2. Three Quinceanera Retreats as defined by the Dean and ensures retreat material covered with girls who cannot attend any of the deanery-wide retreats prior to celebrating the event.
  3. One Directors of Religious Education Spiritual Retreats. 
  4. One bilingual Marriage Renewal Retreats. 
  5. Participate in staff meetings of the parishes within the deanery 
  • Assists Directors of Religious Education with new and ongoing parish initiatives throughout the year:
  1. Update and coordinate updating and enhancing the Religious Education Programs implemented throughout the deanery parishes. 
  2. Ensures the master Deanery Parish Calendars of Events are always current.
  3. Translates registration document, forms and other materials into proper Spanish as needed. 
  4. Coordinates the Volunteer Recognition Lunch for the Outstanding Volunteers of each parish of the deanery and recognition activities.
  5. Assists deanery DREs with booklets and/or ideas for First Communion, Confirmation and RCIA Retreats. 
  6. Other duties as needed
  • Partners with Directors/Coordinators of Religious Education in coordinating and delivering Deanery Assemblies or Deanery Workshops as needed. 
  1. Conducts workshops for catechists, students and/or parents of children preparing for the Sacraments of First Eucharist and 
  2. Confirmation as requested by DREs for their individual parishes. 
  3. Prepares a yearly calendar of scheduled meetings for priests and DREs of the deanery. 
  4. Document and submit weekly activities and time associated with each activity to dean every Friday. 
  5. Coordinate and plan programs that can be initiated at the Deanery level initiate programs that will help each parish response to local needs.
  • Work in a synodal spirit and attend regular in-service trainings initiated by departments and agencies in the Archdiocese of San Antonio.
  • Participate in areas of special ministry as may be required by the local synodal process conveyed by the Archbishop.
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly and yearly deanery activity and financials for Archdiocese Accountability Report to ensure supports all requests for funds from Deanery fund managed through the Archbishops’ appeal. 
  • Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service to include but not limited to names and information, services rendered and financial information.
  • Undergoes annual performance review with input from deanery priest members, as appropriate.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Candidate should be a religious or ordained individual or a qualified, baptized practicing Catholic lay person
  • College degree required or possessing a Pastoral Lay Ministry certificate or equivalent from an accredited catholic institution and a minimum of two years experience within a parish setting.
  • Demonstrated organizational and leadership qualities.\
  • Display a strong moral character with an active prayer life.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and management skills and proven experience interfacing successfully with all levels of employees.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Must be Bilingual – (English & Spanish)
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point etc)
  • Must have reliable transportation, valid drivers license and in insurance and be able to work a flexible schedule.
