We are looking for a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with the ability and desire to work independently as part of a team of imaging professionals that provides services at more than 100 locations in and around the Shreveport/Bossier area. Our Sonographers are known to be self driven, well trained and have extensive clinical knowledge. We work with the leading Radiologist and Cardiologist groups in the area and have a brand new fleet of the top of the line Philips ultrasound equipment.
Duties:
- Perform ultrasound examinations using specialized equipment
- Prepare patients for procedures and explain the process to them
- Position patients correctly to obtain the best images
- Adjust equipment settings to optimize image quality
- Analyze images and provide preliminary findings to the healthcare team
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to determine appropriate diagnostic procedures
- Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures
Ultrasound Department Schedule:
- Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (1 hour lunch break)
-Stand by rotation: This position requires rotation standby every third Saturday and Sunday from 10:00am – 2:00 pm only. This is a salary position so you will be paid your full rate during these hours.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree or higher in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field
- Current certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or equivalent or registry eligible (RVT required within 6 months of hire)
- Proficiency in performing abdominal, obstetric, gynecologic, vascular, and musculoskeletal ultrasound examinations
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to ultrasound imaging
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately interpret images
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
