SSTAR is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) which affords our employees eligibility to apply for one of our three Loan Repayment Programs.

The Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the Fuerza Latina program and managing grant implementation including daily operations and supervision of Prevention & Linkage Specialists and Certified Addiction Counselor.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • To plan, organize, supervise, provide quality assurance, and monitor daily program activities of Fuerza Latina serving 100 Latinos annually with SUD and at risk for HIV.
  • Administrative supervisory responsibilities include: hiring 3 staff, approving leave time, approving timesheets & expense reports, implementing disciplinary procedures, training, and documentation of employee work.
  • To establish close relationships with local shelters, substance abuse treatment facilities and other community-based organizations to effectively target Latinos in Southeast MA.
  • To schedule weekly outreach activities to provide rapid HIV testing in the community.
  • To complete training in ARTAS, Rapid HIV Testing, Motivational Interviewing.
  • To participate in quality improvement efforts and technical assistance.
  • To collect, analyze, and report data on program activities, including ensuring data is entered timely and accurately into the necessary data systems.
  • To review and recommend potential resources which are culturally sensitive to the targeted community.
  • Provide direct care to patients in the form of HIV Testing and referral as needed.
  • To communicate with SAMHSA Program Officer on project outcomes.

Experience and Skills:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, social work, and/or a related field and/or significant experience and training in the field of HIV/AIDS.
  • Experience implementing evidence-based practices with fidelity to program models.
  • Two to three years in project management preferred.
  • Proven knowledge and experience of service delivery systems and human service management.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Sensitivity to HIV issues and people with disabilities required.
