The Billing & Eligibility Specialist provides direct assistance to the Operations and Quality Specialist which would encompass electronic billing and insurance payment posting.

This is a part-time, 20-hour/week position.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Daily eligibility check for all enrollees
• Utilize Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) Eligibility Verification System (EVS)
• Notification of any changes in insurance or loss of eligibility to identified enrollee Care Team
• Utilization of all necessary eHana, ACO/MCO, DMH and EOHHS relevant reports for payment reconciliations
• Research denied or partially paid claims
• Resubmit and/or appeal denied claims to ACO/MCO or DMH through POSC (Provider On-line Service Center) or recommended workflow processes
• Completion of all data entry steps for Enrollee Enrollments and Disenrollments
• Assist program staff with correspondence regarding eligibility

Education & Experience

• High School or GED diploma with billing training/experience
• Good organization and time management skills, computer literacy, proficiency in the utilization of Microsoft Suite with an emphasis in Excel
• Ability to communicate well with Enrollees as well as internal and external staff, including external partners using maturity, tact, and discretion
• Accuracy in data entry and comfort level in a computerized environment is required
• Ability to read and write English
