SST Direct is Hiring an Electrical Designer Near Charlotte, NC

Seeking an Electrical Engineer or Electrical Designer with 3-6 years of experience in electrical, lighting, and fire alarm design of commercial buildings for a direct hire opportunity in Charlotte, NC! Position offers full benefits including PTO, Medical, Dental, Vison, Long-Term, and Short-Term Disability paid by the company. Hybrid work schedule - Office day (Wednesdays) remote the rest of the week. Paid HOLIDAY’S!!!Salary $85,000 - $90,000/per year (based on experience)Responsibilities:

  • Utilize a variety of digital and analog illustration tools to create sketches for intricate designs related to electrical systems.
  • Produce both two-dimensional illustrations and three-dimensional models to effectively outline specific details and plan the integration of electrical systems into physical spaces.
  • Create detailed blueprints depicting voltages for specific lines and electrical components, aiding in the accurate installation of systems.
  • Collaborate with contractors and electricians to ensure that designs meet project requirements.
  • Engage in meticulous planning to create detailed layouts for power lines, power distribution components, grid plans, fitting specifications, and other crucial elements of electrical systems.
  • Utilize CAD (Computer-Aided Design) tools proficiently to develop digital plans that accurately represent the layout and integration of electrical components within a project.
  • Visualize systems through created layouts to facilitate easier calculation processes and ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the design.
  • Collaborate with team members, including engineers and architects, to incorporate electrical layouts seamlessly into overall project plans.
  • Provide ongoing consultation to electricians, builders, and architects during the construction phase of projects to ensure accurate implementation of electrical systems according to design plans.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to address any questions or concerns regarding the electrical design and make necessary adjustments as required.
  • Utilize specialized equipment to test electrical systems and verify that they are distributing power as planned and functioning effectively in practice.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and assessments to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Offer expert guidance and troubleshooting support to resolve any issues or discrepancies identified during the construction and testing phases.
Qualifications:
  • Electrical engineer or designer with 3-6 years’ experience in electrical, lighting, and fire alarm design of commercial buildings.
  • 3-6 years’ experience in design of telecommunications and data communications technology a plus.
  • Must have experience with using/applying AutoCAD and Revit.
