Squirrel Hill Health Center (SHHC), a dynamic and growing Federally Qualified Health Center in Pittsburgh, is seeking a full time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (PA) to work in both its Squirrel Hill and Brentwood offices and to provide telehealth services for patients. This is an immediate need!

The Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant is an independent clinical practitioner under the direct supervision of the Chief Medical Officer. The Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant is a member of the SHHC’s clinical team, responsible for office visits at SHHC’s sites, mobile medical unit visits, and home visits as appropriate to meet patient needs. This position will include general family medicine including pediatrics. It is expected that the PA will care for patients of all ages, from newborn through geriatric.

The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant is a key member of the care team working to provide quality comprehensive services to patients and will work collaboratively with staff to provide team-based coordinated care. The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant will demonstrate the values consistent with Squirrel Hill Health Center’s mission and will work with the SHHC team to make the Center a medical home for patients of all backgrounds.

Qualifications:

• COVID vaccination required
• Degree and certification from an accredited school.
• Minimum 3 year experience, preferably at an FQHC
• A license without restriction to practice as a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in Pennsylvania
• Participation in the Medicare and Medicaid programs
• Enrollment in required managed care and insurance contracts
• Demonstrated sound problem-solving and decision-making ability.
• Demonstrated skill in planning and organizing work, managing time, and meeting commitments.
• Demonstrated well-developed interpersonal skills to interact in sensitive and/or complex situations with a variety of people; expertise with multicultural populations.
• Demonstrated very high level of communication skills to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
• Ability to represent organization in a professional manner.
• Computer skills.
• BLS certified.
• Flexibility and willingness to work some evenings and weekends.
• Knowledge of a second language preferred.
