Description

Summary / Objective 

The Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for the oversight and profitable execution of Poppy Bank Epicenter’s Food and Beverage operations while abiding by Poppy Bank Epicenter’s policies and regulatory food and safety guidelines and policies.

Essential Functions

  • Manage the long-term vision and the day-to-day operations of Poppy Bank Epicenter’s food and beverage functions, including Victory House full-service dining, Poppy Bank Epicenter’s full facility order and pay by phone F&B service, vending machines, and potential future coffee/ice cream/snack bar concession service.
  • Ensure great guest satisfaction through continual monitoring and maintaining a high level of service and quality. Maintain positive customer relationships, process complaints, and respond to customer needs.
  • Forecast, plan, source, and order food, beverages, and other supplies for the F&B operations.
  • Maintain a regular presence on the floor to mentor staff, monitor and improve the effectiveness of workflows, and assist staff as necessary.
  • Responsible for menu pricing, COGS management, and managing all expenses of the operation. There will be a particular emphasis on maintaining food and beverage prime costs within industry benchmarks.
  • Perform department financial functions, including receiving and reviewing all invoices pertaining to the department, follow-up with vendors as needed. Oversee and ensure correct and accurate monthly inventory.
  • Responsible for maintaining food safety, sanitary and safety standards. Ensure compliance with required regulatory and company requirements.
  • Collaborate with other departments on corporate and social events and Epicenter-hosted live events.
  • Continuously improve menus and food presentation catering to the taste of our customers.
  • Work with Poppy Bank Epicenter’s HR Department to manage human resources functions for F&B, including hiring, training, coaching, performance reviews, and discipline, within regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensure collaborative working relationship between Front and Back of House and other areas of Poppy Bank Epicenter.
  • Have or obtain a Food Protection Manager Certification and use such knowledge in day-to-day procedures.
  • Oversee the kitchen to ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the restaurant recipes, portioning, cooking, and serving standards.
  • Attend all scheduled meetings.
  • Uphold the culture and standards of Poppy Bank Epicenter.
  • Other duties as directed.

Work Environment

This job operates in a restaurant environment. Proper training will be given prior to using any dangerous equipment. Employees in this role are frequently exposed to hot water, potentially slippery floors, and cleaning chemicals.

Physical Demands

The employee is occasionally required to stand 100% of their shift, climb or balance; and stoop or kneel. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, using proper lifting procedures.

Qualifications


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, with an emphasis on food and beverage management.
  • Business degree, culinary certification, or Food Service Management degree preferred but not required.
  • In-depth knowledge of the food industry, including cost control, labor control, maintenance, merchandising and accounting.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations as it relates to safely serving food and ensuring F&B staff have been trained in safety standards and certified to handle food.
  • Ability to learn and become the Company’s subject matter expert in Toast POS software and xtraCHEF F&B cost management system.
  • Ability to adhere to budgets and meet financial targets.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment,
  • Exceptional organizational, leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Be a team player. Look for opportunities to help another team member.
  • Available to work, days, nights, and weekends, as necessary.
  • Must have exceptional hygiene and grooming habits.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual a plus.
