Summary: Supervises, monitors, and coordinates Player Services activities during assigned shift.

The intent of this position description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by this position. Employee(s) may be required to perform position-related tasks other than those specifically listed in this description.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Supervises and directs the employees of the department; creates weekly work and break schedules; adjusts payroll regarding dual rate hours, absences, and attendance.
  • Interprets policy, monitors procedures, solves problems, and provides informational updates on promotions and changes in policy and procedure.
  • Enters new member bonuses; enters and creates point/promo adjustments and corrects mistakes with guest accounts.
  • Orders supplies, monitors inventory, and requisitions new stock.
  • Provides coverage for the front desk when required.
  • Attends meetings, creates and maintains reports and records.
  • Prepares departmental payroll and audits payroll information for accuracy.
  • Carries out duties, assignments, and projects as directed by the Manager.
  • Makes suggestions for improvements to work processes and implementing new programs to increase revenue and optimizing profits.
  • Makes recommendations for improving morale and reducing turnover.
  • Tracks employee attendance including FMLA.
  • Assists with the budgeting process.
  • Assists in updating Player Services Policy and Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Trains employees on database system, soliciting new club membership & club operations.
  • Represents the Player Services department at Unemployment Hearings.
  • As a member of the leadership team, rewards, coaches and counsels Rep I and II employees.
  • Enters Pit Ratings for Gaming points and other Gaming venues manually as needed.
  • Tracks statistical data for promotional and redemptive giveaways.
  • Responsible for scheduling to ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained according to business need, special events, holidays and promotions.
  • Issues comps to guests based on comp guidelines.
  • Oversees promotional giveaways such as, staffing, inventory control, kiosk functionality and restocking paper.
  • Responsible for restocking kiosk paper, reporting kiosk errors and communicating updates on kiosk functionality to the Manager as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws and in alignment with SMGI’s Pride Values, Brand Promise, and Business Vision.
  • Interviews, schedules, and trains employees.
  • Plans, assigns, and directs work; appraises performance; rewards and disciplines employees; addresses complaints and resolves problems for employees as well as guests.
  • Makes recommendations to the Assistant Manager, Manager, and Director for hiring and staff separations in accordance with company policy.
  • Ensures the hiring, training, promoting, assigning, disciplining and discharging of employees are in accordance with Tribal Law, including without limitation, the Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO).

Required Knowledge of:

  • Principles, practices, and theories of marketing and promotion.
  • Effective communication strategies including direct mail promotions.
  • Practices, procedures, and processes related to Casino gaming operations.
  • Computer hardware and software applications.
  • Principles, practices, and methods of management and supervision.

Required Skill in:

  • Executing marketing and promotional techniques and strategies
  • Interpreting and applying rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Operating computer hardware and software applications.
  • Communicating both orally and in writing.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others.

Education, Experience, Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications:

  • Associate’s Degree in marketing, business, or a related field, and two (2) years guest service work experience with a minimum of one-year supervisory experience, and/or3 yearsof Casino Marketing experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • High security gaming license issued by the Grand Ronde Gaming Commission.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Due to the nature of the interactions with other employees and the public we serve, employees may be required to provide documentation of, or receive, certain health vaccinations.

Environmental Factors and Conditions/Physical Requirements:

  • Work is performed in an office and Casino work environment, occasionally exposed to tobacco smoke and loud noise.
  • Work is normally subject to standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, and occasional lifting up to 40 pounds.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers to grasp, handle, reach, and type.

Equipment and Tools Utilized:

  • Equipment utilized includes personal computer, standard office equipment, telephone, audio/video equipment, two-way radio, and department vehicles.
