Spirit AeroSystems is Hiring a Human Resources - Multiple Functions Near Tulsa, OK

Spirit AeroSystems focuses on affordable, innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions to support customers around the globe.This is an HR Site Leader role with responsibilities for a team of HR professionals in support of the Spirit employees at the Company’s Tulsa, OK location. This role will proactively interact with and advise leadership on the site’s overall people strategy and management of day-to-day workforce priorities to include workforce planning, training, development, employee relations, discipline, hiring, union relations, and workforce administration. The role will work closely corporate headquarters to ensure alignment with company HR strategies and draw support from the HR Centers of Excellence.

Responsibilities

Location: Tulsa, OK 

  • Builds positive and constructive relationships with management, employees, and key HR professionals. 
  • Supports management to foster constructive and productive culture, work environment, and relationships among all Spirit employees in alignment with the company’s mission, vision & values. 
  • Co-develops HR strategy for the site in partnership with the leadership team and leads HR team to execute. 
  • Facilitates workforce planning in support of production rate readiness and executing the site talent acquisition strategy for an hourly and salaried workforce.
  • Designs, implements, and improves talent development and retention strategies in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Oversees HR activities in in accordance with site and company policies and priorities. 
  • Implements proactive employee relations strategies with management, bargaining representatives, and employees.
  • Collaborates to ensure legal compliance by reviewing federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and disseminating, explaining, and consulting regarding those requirements. 
  • Collaborates with other departments including Employee Relations, Operations, Finance, Security, Corporate Communications, Labor, Legal and Compliance, and other HR organizations. 
  • Supports company community relations strategy, events, and employee affinity groups.
  • Addresses performance issues within the team to drive top team performance. Expects continual growth of knowledge and experience within the team. 
  • Leads team utilizing communication, empowerment, empathy, and constructive feedback. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested. 

Qualifications

Requirements 

  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources management or a relevant field of study is preferred. 
  • An HR leadership professional with at least 5 years of broad HR experience with strategic and operational experience across multiple functions of HR; ideally in a manufacturing environment such as aerospace or automotive environments. 
  • Experience preferred in a union environment. 
  • Experience working in a complex, matrixed environment. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities between multiple business units in a fast-paced culture. 
  • Effective application of employment principles, practices, and applicable regulations. 
  • Demonstrated leadership and success in planning, leading, and driving change in a large organization. 
  • Demonstrated business savvy to effectively communicate and work with executives and leaders in support of achieving business goals. 
  • Track record of consistently providing high quality and on-time delivery and improving organizational effectiveness. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead from the front as well as present to senior executives on a regular basis. 
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to prepare and deliver persuasive and well-organized ideas in both written and verbal form. 
  • Higher level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). 
  • This role will require some travel.
