Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Medical Records Analyst.
Duties include:
Prepare patient charts and gather information and documents from patients, attorneys, medical facilities and radiology facilities, including imaging.
*Ensures medical records are assembled in standard order (attached) are accurate and complete.
*Ensures that all outside medical records and imaging are uploaded into the patient chart, a minimum of 5 days prior to the patients office visit.
*Files and scans paperwork and reports in SRS and paper charts.
*Prepare charts for chart review and TC’s
*Ensures files are stored in the designated area according to storage procedures
* Responsible for safeguarding patient records and ensuring HIPAA compliance standards.
*Responds to requests for medical records
*Retrieves medical records from offsite facilities as needed.
*Complete clerical duties including, answering phones, responding to emails, address all faxes
*Works with front desk with auditing records in regard to intake documents needed to patients scheduled.
*Upload and maintain Dictaphone
*Tracks dictation sent to and received from transcription service
*Makes daily run to HSS mailroom to collect mail, delivers mail to office for sorting
*Sign X-ray orders in EPIC for upcoming patient visits
*Upload images from Ambra for HSS PACS
*Upload images from discs received from patients
*Return via mail discs containing images to patients
*Back-up team members covering for vacations/call-outs
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of medical office operations and procedures
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in record-keeping
- Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems or other medical record software
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and other relevant legal requirements for maintaining patient confidentiality
