POSITION: Food Service Specialist

Westmoreland Enhanced Personal Care Home provides meals, supervision, assistance with personal care tasks to those who are unable to care for themselves but do not need skilled care. Services vary and are based on the individual needs of each resident. Personal Care Homes are inspected and licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services. The program is designed to provide a home like environment that provides a level of security to the residents, while they receive a complement of services designed to meet their individual needs.

As a Food Service Specialist, you will be responsible for following Pa Department of Human Services Personal Care Boarding Home Regulation 55 Pa Code 2600 as well as coordinating and overseeing the daily food services operation of the Personal Care Home. In your role as a Food Service Specialist, you will order and maintain adequate food inventories, supplies, and equipment to ensure the effective and safe operation of the food preparation facility. In addition, you will be responsible for sanitary preparation, packaging, and delivery of the daily meal order as well as maintaining appropriated records and documentation. Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Food Service with three (3) years’ work experience in an institution food operation preferred. an equivalent combination of skills, experience and education may be considered at the discretion of the agency.
• Must have/obtain a state-approved Food Handler’s Certification.
• Demonstrated knowledge of food service safety standards.
• Demonstrated knowledge of bulk ordering and quantity meal preparation.
• Must successfully obtain Criminal History Clearance from the PA State Police, Child Abuse Clearance from the PA Department of Human Services and FBI Fingerprint Clearance.
• Must not be excluded from Medicare, Medicaid, or any other federal health care program.
• Ability to transport oneself and/or individuals in an insured vehicle, as program needs dictate.
