Overview
Responsibilities
- Able to develop structural design layouts and drawings from sketches provided by engineers and senior design staff.
- Assist in the preparation of structural specifications, estimates, and material lists with project engineer’s or project manager’s guidance.
- A fundamental working knowledge of structural drawing layout, detailing, and drafting of structural solutions.
- Ability to develop 2D drawing views from 3D structural models and complete detailing and annotation.
- Assist in the quality checking of drafted product and conformance with drawing production standards and project specific CAD/BIM requirements.
- Working knowledge of water, wastewater, and infrastructure design.
- Basic understanding of converting data between Revit and AutoCAD.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Advanced proficiency in 2D CAD using MicroStation and AutoCAD, and a demonstrated proficiency with 3D CAD/BIM techniques using Revit Structure software applications.
- Familiar with AISC weld symbols and their application.
- Fundamental knowledge of 3D structural modeling for concrete, masonry, and steel structures using Revit Structure applications.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two-year technical or Associate Degree.
- 5 years of experience in engineering or related field.
