Responsibilities

The Senior Manager of Software Development will be responsible for management of the architecture, design, and development phases of the systems development lifecyle (SDLC) for the Retail domain. The position will provide leadership and management to application development teams and will be responsible for developing and maintaining standards as well as driving architectural solutions and system design across multiple applications. Additionally, you will collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, prioritize tasks, and foster a collaborative and innovative development environment.

  • Manage the complete systems development lifecycle (including requirements definition, design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance phases) for one or more functional module or modules; should be able to identify and mitigate the project risks
  • Oversee the analysis, execution, and support of all assigned projects; including resource planning, team selection, performance appraisals, budgets, and project documentation
  • Develop and manage the project schedules; work closely with the project team to develop a detailed project plan, estimate the time and effort required and assign appropriate resources; ensure the adherence of application development and technology guidelines, communicate and interface with senior management and business users (sponsors)
  • Participate and contribute to enhance the overall application and infrastructure architecture relating to process and standards
  • Supervise/Mentor a team of Developers in delivering and supporting distributed solutions while fostering an environment conducive to innovation and career development
  • Effectively lead team using Agile methodology, business goals and emotional intelligence
  • Develop, motivate, and retain critical talent
  • Partner with the business stakeholders to understand and define the opportunities for continuous improvement or additional capabilities for current or future solutions
  • Ability to oversee the work performed by other technical resources on the team and ensure the compliance of application and architecture guidelines
  • Serve as liaison to business community, technical team and senior leadership
  • Approve software designs and actively participate in strategy sessions with the team and business community

Qualifications

  • 10 years of software development experience, including 5 years of management experience
  • Experience leading/managing teams (onshore and offshore) who develop using end-to-end Microsoft stack
  • Ability to set goals, manage schedules (2-week sprints), and motivate teams to meet deadlines
  • Ability to communicate and plan with cross functional teams to achieve product delivery goals
  • Experience with Azure Dev Ops work items, task board, source control, etc. and familiarity with CI/CD tools
  • Detailed knowledge of database design and object/relational database technology
  • Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills
  • Retail or wholesale experience, preferred

Technology:

  • Microsoft Stack – MS SQL Server, .Net/.Net Core, C#, ASP.Net (MVC/API/RAZOR), WPF
  • Other – JavaScript (Angular 2 /JQuery), HTML, CSS, SharePoint, SSRS, ABP
  • Distributed Application Architecture - Docker Containers, Event-Driven Messaging Infrastructure (Kafka), Microservices, Caching/Syncing, Analytics and monitoring (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Grafana)
  • Frameworks/Components- Redis, Identity Server, SSO, Blazor
