The System Administrator is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining computer systems, networks, and servers within an organization. They play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and security of the IT infrastructure.
Basic Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

• Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, networks, and servers.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as applying patches and updates, and performing system backups.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights to ensure data security and integrity.
• Evaluate and recommend hardware, software, and system upgrades to enhance performance and efficiency.
• Collaborate with other IT teams and departments to resolve technical issues and support their needs.
• Respond to user inquiries and provide technical support and assistance.
• Ensure system documentation, including configuration details and procedures, is accurate and up to date.
• Implement and maintain security measures, including firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.
• Conduct regular system audits and vulnerability assessments to identify potential security risks.
• Assist in developing and implementing IT policies, procedures, and standards.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends relevant to system administration.

Required credentials:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience as a System Administrator or in a similar role.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSA, CCNA) are a plus.
• Proficiency in operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux), networking protocols, and system administration tools.
• Strong knowledge of hardware, software, and networking concepts.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Experience with system monitoring and diagnostic tools.
