SpecChem, LLC is Hiring a Plant Manager Near Edwardsville, KS

SpecChem, LLC supplies and services the concrete distributor network with quality construction chemicals that provide performance and value to the industry.
We are seeking an intelligent, energetic, experienced candidate for a full-time Plant Manager position in our Edwardsville, KS facility.
The ideal candidate for this position has outstanding leadership, people, and problem-solving skills, thinks innovatively, and constantly strives for excellence and improvement.
Responsibilities:
  • Direct and manage all plant operations with overall responsibilities for production, maintenance, quality, shipping and receiving and other production-related activities.
  • Manage all associates within the facility.
  • Responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within the facility.
  • Coordinate plant activities through planning with departmental leads to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Develop and control profits, plans, and budgets.
  • Implement cost-effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages, and salaries.
  • Manage capital asset maintenance.
  • Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards.
  • Control and minimize labor overtime, premium freight, and repair expenses.
  • Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment; replace or make adjustments to plant facilities and equipment when necessary.
  • Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.
  • Implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs.
  • Incorporate ship floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel.
  • Other duties as dictated by business needs.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or five years of plant/general management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area travel may be expected.
  • Strong leadership ability.
  • Quick learner, team player.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient level of financial management.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability and analysis at a high skill level.
  • Superior decision-making ability.
  • Detail-oriented and quality minded.
  • Able to perform at a high level in a fast-paced environment.
  • Have a passion for excellence – do great work.
  • Prior industry experience is a plus
  • Ability to pass a background check, pre-employment physical exam, and drug screen.
