Job Description:

*Must be willing to support individuals with behavioral support needs

We are currently searching for a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support a young man in his home. The shift will be as follows:

• Saturdays 11AM-7PM
• Sundays 11AM-7PM
• Wednesday-Friday 5PM-9PM

Responsibilities:

• Provides direct care and support to young adults with developmental disabilities.
• Engages in and plans a variety of activities with individuals served based on their areas of interest.
• Fosters positive relationships between caretakers and individuals served.
• Ensures client safety and maintaining a safe environment.
• Encourages self-help activities.
• Documents services provided.
• Must accompany individuals we serve on regularly scheduled outings and encourage community involvement.
• Work on vocational skills as need.
• Implement behavioral intervention plans for any areas of support.
• Willing to attend ISP/planning meetings for potential new adults to receive services.
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Communication skills (verbally and written) with all levels of personnel, internal and external to the company.
• Ability to handle physical aspects of job, including bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and walking for periods of time
• Ability to meet with stakeholders and provide tours to potential clients
• Ability to represent organization during meetings and community outreach activities
• Willingness to transport individuals into the community using company vehicle when needed

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma (required)
• Associate's Degree (preferred)
• Experience supporting individuals with disabilities
• Ability to successfully pass state mandated BCI/FBI check
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Schedule:

• Saturdays 11AM-7PM
• Sundays 11AM-7PM
• Weds-Fri 5PM-7PM

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 28 per week
