Speaks Law Firm is Hiring a Balance Clerk - Personal Injury Near Charlotte, NC
Our legal office needs an enthusiastic full-time Balance Clerk to help our attorneys and paralegals support our clients and make sure our operations are running smoothly. You'll need to study account totals, tackle subrogation, manage invoices, keep track of balance sheets, and interact with adjusters, providers, and other relevant parties in terms of account balances and liens. Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Review and analyze account balances, including liens, medical bill statements, health insurance payments and adjustments, and client payments
Subrogation, to include setting up health insurance liens, requesting updated liens every 30-60 days and entering this information into case management software
Verify and process invoices related to case expenses and enter information into case management software
Manage and maintain accurate balance sheets with updated balances, costs, and lien information
Respond to inquiries from attorneys, insurance adjusters, providers, and lien analysts regarding claim information, treatment information, account balances, and distribution
Assist with the preparation of provider reduction requests
Assist with the preparation of settlement distributions
Data entry into case management software
Maintain confidentiality of client financial information and maintain a high degree of integrity
Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and other support staff as needed
Desired Qualifications:
Associate's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience
Experience in the legal industry, medical billing or subrogation experience preferred
Attention to detail and accuracy in financial matters
Proficiency in Microsoft and Excel, Needles Neos experience preferred
Strong time management and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as a team with other legal staff
