The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) C4ISR Systems Division is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to help the U.S. Space Force achieve the goals of developing requirements, methodologies and processes, prototype systems, technology roadmaps, government reference architecture, and assessments of test, training and infrastructure capability gaps for the Operational Test and Training Infrastructure (OTTI) Enterprise and the National Space Test and Training Complex (NSTTC). This position requires excellent soft skills to influence and work with teammates from the government and other UARC and FFRDC partners. SDL will be embedding experts to support all aspects of the OTTI, with emphasis on NSTTC and space domain Test and Evaluation (T&E). • Salary ranges for this position: (Commensurate based on education and experience)
  • Mid-level:$100,000 - $140,000
  • Senior-level: $140,000 - $195,000

Key Responsibilities:

• Work side-by-side with the customer as a subject matter expert to develop methodologies and infrastructure to perform training and T&E of USSF Systems
• Conduct a comprehensive assessment of existing OTTI infrastructure used by the USSF
• Ensure all subsystems integrate and that interfaces are clearly defined
• Provide recommendations to ensure test and evaluation of subsystems accurately assess requirements and parameters defined in the system models
• Collaborate with USSF stakeholders, Test Deltas, Program Offices who will use OTTI, TEMPs, STPs to define specific OTTI requirements. Create and maintain programmatic and technical documentation to ensure efficient planning and execution
• Improve operational Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) via development of “red vs blue” models and environments. Assist the government in maintaining the overarching CONOP that interleaves all subsystems
• Enable government ownership of the delivered technology baseline
• Coordinate across technical teams to ensure requirements are known and met
• Participate in technical interchange meetings and reviews
• Effectively communicate technical results, both verbally and in writing
• Represent SDL and NSTTC at forums and meetings

Required Qualifications:

• BS degree in a related technical field, e.g., aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering
• 7 years of relevant systems engineering
• Demonstrated expertise and experience in complex space systems and ground facilities development
• Experience with developing technical budgets for complex systems
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to present clearly and succinctly to customers
• Ability to travel
• Must be a US citizen with a current TOP SECRET/SCI clearance and ability to be cleared for SAPs and CAPs

• Experience with modeling and simulations, virtual twins, interactive virtual environments

• Experience in military exercises or wargaming
