Job Details – Line Cook | Kitchen Manager
This is DAYTIME POSITION - no regular nighttime hours. Looking for Full Time creative, detail oriented, cooks who take great pride in putting forth good looking and consistent plates. Must have solid communication skills in English | Spanish. We offer a small team where all member's contributions are valued. Additional compensation and responsibilities available for the right candidate who can take on additional duties.
Additional duties will include tasks such as helping with orders of supplies and food and kitchen management, preparing items for our bakery, working with owner to develop specials for the café and gourmet grab go counter, and using Toast POS system to track menu item performance and how the café is performing to set daily, weekly, monthly sales goals.
SPACE 519 | The Lunchroom, winner of ‘OpenTable Diner’s Choice 2022,’ Chicago Magazine’s ‘Hot List,’ and Modern Luxury ‘Brunch Buzz’ is a full service 50 seat restaurant located within SPACE 519 - a small luxury department store in the Gold Coast. We take our food very seriously which is why we have a 100% recommend rating with Open Table.
Ideal candidates will have at least 3 years relevant kitchen experience, excellent communications skills and strong attention to detail. Bilingual language skills are required. Working in an open kitchen environment requires our Culinary Team to be professional in appearance and polished to deliver exceptional output to the store’s upscale clientele. Since The Lunchroom at SPACE 519 is not regularly open for dinner, evening shifts are not part of the weekly schedule.
