JOB DESCRIPTION: Accounts Receivables and Collections

• Call all past due customers. Record credit notes & follow up.
• Determine cause of non-payment. If service dispute, communicate with department manager involved. Follow up and ensure credit issued if needed.
• Follow up on bank returned items.
• For uncollectable accounts, write off to bad debt account. Determine taxable amount. If anything is received after w/o, post to bad debt account & give sales tax clerk copy of amount received & taxable amount. Communicate with bad debt attorney.
• Month end adjusting entries for bad debt reserve.
• Yearend recap of account for audit package.
• Manage customer credit applications, checking credit and setting up accounts.
• Credit overrides & release.
• Total all remittance & receipts from daily deposit and balance with total sent to bank.
• Process credit card payments & deposit, post to GL, and give to accounting clerk to post receipts to accounts.
• Post entries for merchant fees & bank card interest.
• Run AR statements at month end.
• Respond to credit card disputes.
• Reconcile bank accounts.
• Process AR customer refunds.
• Reconcile petty cash at month end.
• Must attend work on a regular and predictable basis.
• Must be able to work in a cooperative manner with Management, Supervisors, co- workers, residents, and the public.
• Must uphold Company policies, including the anti-harassment program.
• Must have the ability to consistently meet production and time deadlines.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Account degree preferred but not required.
• Good understanding of accounting principles & practices
• Good problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
• Must understand the importance of documentation, including organization, scanning & retrieval.
• Proficient in Excel

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per hour

Weekly day range:

• Monday to Friday

Work Location: In person
