Southern is Hiring a Human Resource Business Partner Near Durham, NC

Description

Job Summary:The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) acts as the primary point of contact for an assigned business organization(s) within PowerSecure. Areas that are specifically targeted include: performance management, employee relations, compliance with HR policies & procedures and compensation. The role will be involved in implementing and managing all Human Resources initiatives that impact the business organization(s) they support.

HYBRID SCHEDULE MUST BE ABLE TO REPORT TO DURHAM, NC OFFICE

Minimum Qualifications: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills):

• 5 years’ of increasingly progressive HR experience.• Bachelor’s degree in related field.• 3 years’ experience with HRIS Systems, experience with UKG a plus.• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.• Working knowledge of employment and labor laws.• Ability to influence, negotiate, and problem-solve effectively.• Ability to discuss and resolve conflict.• Ability to manage functionally diverse business partner relationships.• Ability to advocate effectively for both the employee and employer.• Strong communication, decision making, and time management skills is a must.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work closely with assigned organization(s) to determine their current HR needs. • Create strategic ways to improve the relationship between the company’s leadership and its employees.• Work with recruitment and their assigned organization(s) to identify necessary roles for growth within the company.• Continued review of compensation within their assigned organization(s) to ensure consistent internal equity.• Provide guidance and recommendations regarding performance issues, coaching, and termination decisions.• Clearly communicate to your assigned leaders regarding HR initiatives and how it could impact their group.• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws, liaising with legal team when necessary.• Foster a collaborative environment and proactively engage with HRIS analyst, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, & Benefits, having a general understanding in each of these areas of HR.• Process all internal promotions, compensation adjustments, org changes, supervisor changes & terminations for assigned business group(s) in HRIS system for assigned organization(s).• Day to day tasks of the HR department to support department goals.

Physical Demands and Work Environment: • Office environment• Must occasionally lift or move 20 pounds.
